It is particularly important for students who learn differently to have the opportunity to grow talents and skills outside of the classroom. Lawrence’s robust student life programming is designed to strengthen our school community and further the social and emotional development of our students.
Student life programming helps students gain leadership skills, pursue interests and passions, feel a sense of belonging, develop communication and relational skills, and make new friends! Most importantly, group participation allows them to envision themselves as valuable contributors to the world.
In addition to clubs, extracurriculars, athletics, and arts, our students participate in school spirit events, including pep rallies, tailgates, spirit week, and the annual homecoming weekend. Students take a leadership role in planning social activities such as the annual homecoming dance, winter formal, and high school prom. They also hold fundraisers to support these events.
All students have the opportunity to regularly weigh in on issues, decisions, and procedures that shape and define their student life experience.
