Ms. Annabelle Thorne

What drew me to Lawrence: I operate on the belief that every child deserves an advocate for their mental and academic well-being. At Lawrence, teachers are dedicated to providing the optimal environment for learning and social growth, regardless of individual learning differences. I knew immediately that I wanted to be a part of students' lives here at Lawrence, furthering their success and advocating for their social-emotional needs.

Something others don't know about me: I am a classically trained vocalist and violinist. In the summer of 2024, I traveled to Urbania, Italy, to perform in four separate opera productions with singers from all over the world. I also played principal roles in two world premiere operatic films set to release in May of 2025.

Spotted off-campus: I enjoy crafting, sourcing my materials from thrift stores or natural environments. I also enjoy hiking, hammocking, and appreciating the scenery of Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

An accomplishment I'm proud of: I am proud to be an inaugural member in creating Miami University's Wellness Studio, a space dedicated to student mental health and wellness. I created and implemented a nine-month programming schedule that served thousands of students across campus and cemented a community of students supporting one another through life's hardships. What started as an empty room transformed into a booming space of joy, peacefulness, and respite.
