Scott Burton serves as Senior Advisor and Special Projects at Marburn Academy. He joined the school in 1985 as a teacher, then became Dean of Students/Director of Admissions before holding the role of Associate Head of School from 2011-2019. Scott was also Interim Head of School for the 2019-2020 school year.
A long-time admirer of Lawrence School, Scott’s first connection came in 1989 when he and his fellow Marburn faculty spent a day observing and collaborating with the then-dePaul School. Since then, he has worked on two ISACS Accreditation Teams at Lawrence. Both instances had a lasting impact, as did Scott’s relationship with Head of School Doug Hamilton. The pair have often been able to share ideas and advice with each other, and now, Scott is incredibly excited to work with the entire Lawrence community as a member of the Board.
Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in special education and teaching from The Ohio State University. He earned his master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Ashland University. In his free time, Scott enjoys rooting on the Buckeyes, hiking, jogging, and spending time with his wife and two grown children.Collapse
