Did you know adopted children have an increased likelihood of being diagnosed with learning differences? Join us virtually to learn more about common learning and attention challenges, as well as how to best support unique educational journeys. Dr. Elaine Schulte brings more than twenty-five years of expertise to this conversation and hopes to enlighten both parents and professionals.

Elaine E. Schulte, MD, MPH, FAAP
Dr. Elaine Schulte, vice chair for academic affairs and faculty development at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore, is a national expert in the field of adoption medicine. She is the author of Caring for Your Adopted Child: An Essential Guide for Parents, as well as a featured voice in many educational materials for healthcare professionals. Dr. Schulte is a Lawrence alumni parent and serves on the school's board of trustees.
Moderator: Kelly M. Christian, Ph.D.
An alumna of Cornell and Case Western Reserve, Dr. Kelly Christian is a clinical psychologist with extensive training in educational assessment. Her interest in evaluating learning needs was sparked by her experience as a graduate assistant at Lawrence School's Ethan D. Schafer Center for Learning Differences. She later joined Lawrence's staff as a postdoctoral fellow and was named clinical director of the Schafer Center in 2015.
