Liam Nixon '19 has been named Commended Student in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program.
This outstanding academic distinction means Liam placed among the top 3 percent of the more than 1.6 million students who took the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
We had the pleasure of presenting Liam with a letter of commendation during a surprise celebration at the Upper School last Friday afternoon. Liam, who has been at Lawrence since the first grade, is the third student in school history to receive recognition from the National Merit Scholarship Program.
We were honored to host his family at the celebration, which was attended by Head of School Mr. Hamilton, Head of Upper School Mr. Culp, College and Career Planning (CCP) Associate Director Mrs. Riley, CCP Director Mrs. Mattes, and a host of Upper School faculty and staff.
