The essential function of these positions is to provide coverage for teachers who are absent from school, and to provide a safe, structured, and academically-focused experience for students. The ideal candidates possess previous experience in a school setting. A positive attitude, excellent organizational skills, and demonstrated success in a collaborative and cooperative workplace are essential. Knowledge and sensitivity to the needs of students who struggle with learning and attention differences is important. A bachelor’s degree is required; teacher licensure is preferred.
